We’re committed to blurring the line between media and reader, publication and community, and our inbox is always open. There’s two rough categories under which we accept submissions in:

1) The journal, where we publish bits and pieces like poetry, essays, photos, visual art, short films and music. If you have a specific piece of finished work you’re seeking a home for, this one’s for you. We’ve got a few guidelines listed below that’ll help you keep your email concise!

2) Potential collaborations / ideas… If you’re looking to work with us on a specific project, if you have an idea for the website, or simply want to introduce yourself with a portfolio, we’d love to hear from you. For these, feel free to just reach out directly to hello@purenowhere.com.

We also run open submissions opportunities from time to time - these are small-scale, collaborative projects we source participants for through open-calls on social media. You can keep an eye out for those on our instagram!

Please keep in mind we do receive a high influx of submissions and emails, so unfortunately we’re unable to reply to everyone. If you have any more questions, check out our FAQs page!

Reminder: By submitting your work to us, you’re agreeing to allow publication across our site and social media channels. We also consider all submissions for print/event projects, but will reach out to you before potential inclusion in these. We will ALWAYS credit you, the artist, in the work we share, across every platform and format.

Guidelines

Keep your email friendly & relaxed! We’re just a few humans behind a computer screen in a different part of the world, who’d love to get to know you and your work. Introduce yourself, talk a bit about what you’re submitting, and keep it short and sweet. <3

All Submissions
Please use Google Drive or Dropbox when sending work through. Thank you!

Photography/Visual
Aim for a collection of 8-25 images.
Ideally, have a cohesive theme/idea for the collection.
A title and introduction paragraph is always appreciated.

Written
Pieces must be as close to a final form as possible, edited to the best of your ability.
No limits on word-counts, topic or style.

Music
Include all desired links, press kits, or additional assets in email.
A brief description of your work as an artist, and explanation of the kind of coverage you’re looking for.

Film
A link to the full film (not just a trailer).
Artist’s statement and written introduction to the work you are submitting.
An idea of the kind of coverage you’re looking for here is always appreciated, too.
